Ask Our Experts
We’ve put together a group of summer camp experts that can help answer all of your questions. Here are who you can expect to see at our Summer Camp Q&A!
Question The Experts
When it comes to your child’s safety, parents can never be too cautious or ask too many questions — especially now!
Here are some of the questions we will be asking the summer camp experts (aside from the number one question — “How early can I drop my child off?”! hahahaha):
- How will the guidelines affect my child’s experience?
- Are you going to stay at 25% capacity? Or will your capacity change during Phases 2 and 3?
- Will scheduled daily field trip still occur?
- What steps are you taking to ensure the facility is clean?
- Will my child need to wear a face covering?
- Will your staff be required to wear a face covering?
- What safety measures will be in place for children with underlying health concerns?
- What type of communication system do you have in place to reach me? (Example: text, email, etc.)
- What happens if the weather is bad and you have to go inside? How will you maintain social distancing?
- Will by child be sharing supplies?
- Will you provide snacks, meals, and water or do I have to provide those for my child?
- I am nervous to sign my child up? What is the latest I can sign my child up?
Do you have questions for our summer camp experts? Message us on Facebook or email us today and we will as our experts live on Thursday, May 28 at 7:30 pm!
Things To Know
According to the Louisiana Department of Education’s website, while “in Phases 1, 2, and 3, summer activities on K-12 campuses may occur with certain restrictions in place.”
These restrictions are in place to ensure the safety and health of children and staff. To review the K-12 Supportive Guidance for Summer 2020, click here.
In addition, the “CDC offers the following considerations for ways in which camp administrators can help protect campers, staff, and communities, and slow the spread of COVID-19.” “These considerations are meant to supplement—not replace—any state, local, territorial, or tribal health and safety laws, rules, and regulations with which camps must comply.” Review the CDC’s guidelines here.
For more information on how to keep your child safe while attending summer camp, visit the Louisiana Department of Health’s website and the Guidelines and Supportive Guidance for Schools, Camps, and Extracurricular Activities from the Louisiana Department of Education.
