The incident resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries, prompting an FBI investigation into what is now considered an act of terrorism. Blood Drives

Local blood banks are urgently seeking donations to aid victims in need of transfusions. These drives will take place at the following locations:

Thursday, Jan. 2

  • Pelican Athletic Club, 1170 Meadow Brook Blvd., Mandeville, Noon to 5 p.m.

Friday, Jan. 3

  • Third District Volunteer Fire Department Headquarters, 10415 Jefferson Hwy., River Ridge, 2-7 p.m.

Ochsner Blood Bank is also accepting donations by appointment.
