The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) has teamed up with the all-female Krewe of Muses to create a limited-edition king cake, “The Goddess,” in celebration of Muses’ 25th anniversary. This unique collaboration brings together artistry, tradition, and delicious flavors, making it a must-have treat for the 2025 Carnival season.

NOCCA’s newest king cake embraces the flavors of Greece, honoring the Muses’ roots in Greek mythology. “The Goddess” features a rich combination of goat cheese and fig, complemented by candied orange and toasted walnuts. A shimmering layer of silver glitter—symbolizing the krewe’s silver anniversary—adds the perfect finishing touch.

This exclusive king cake will be available for purchase from February 17–27, with pre-orders now open at NOCCAMarketplace.com. Customers can choose from various pickup locations or opt for shipping, ensuring that king cake lovers both near and far can enjoy this special creation. Additionally, “The Goddess” will be sold at King Cake Hub, a local hub for Carnival confections.

Proceeds from NOCCA’s King Cake Program support the school’s Culinary Arts department, helping to nurture Louisiana’s next generation of chefs. The initiative is overseen by the NOCCA Foundation, the school’s nonprofit partner, which provides essential funding and advocacy for NOCCA’s world-class programs.

2025 Muses Cup Design by Piper Schaumburg

Beyond the kitchen, NOCCA’s students will also have a presence in the Muses parade. Visual Arts student Piper Schaumburg was selected as the designer of the krewe’s 2025 signature cup, a coveted throw that will be distributed by riders throughout the parade. Each year, Muses holds a contest among high school students to create original artwork for the cup, making it a highly anticipated element of the parade’s festivities. NOCCA students will also be marching in the Muses parade on Thursday, February 27, representing the school in true Carnival spirit.

Adding to the excitement, NOCCA has also partnered with French Truck Coffee, the official non-profit beneficiary of this year’s “Big Chief” Carnival Blend. A portion of proceeds from every 12-ounce bag of this special blend—featuring coffee beans from El Salvador, Ethiopia, and Brazil—will benefit the NOCCA Foundation. Customers who purchase a bag of “Big Chief” coffee along with a NOCCA king cake for pickup will receive a $1 discount.

With its blend of creativity, community, and culinary excellence, “The Goddess” king cake promises to be a standout treat this Mardi Gras season. Don’t miss the opportunity to indulge in this limited-edition creation while supporting NOCCA’s talented students and future chefs.
