Job Description

Are you energetic, smart, organized, reliable, and have an interest (or experience) in journalism or publishing? Then, this is the perfect internship for you!
 
As an intern, you will collaborate with our publisher and editorial team to acquire editing and writing skills and knowledge of the editorial process. Ultimately, you should expect to gain experience and be prepared to enter a fast-paced business environment.
 
You will leave this internship with the great feeling of experience and an enhanced portfolio. Plus we promise a very fun, relaxed environment and a stipend at the end. 🙂

Responsibilities Include

  • Fact-checking copy for our magazines – check for grammatical errors, and that event dates are added to our online calendars, etc.
  • Administrative responsibilities assigned by the publisher and editor.
  • Creation of social media contests on various platforms as needed.
  • Photo assignments for feature stories if applicable.

Internships last for a full semester. A stipend will be paid at end of the internship. ​​Scheduling is flexible (10-15 hours per week preferred). Photography skills are a plus but not required.

Requirements

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Extremely organized and detail oriented. Candidate should be self-motivated and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Highly recommended for current college junior, senior, or student working on their masters. Experience in Photoshop or Creative Suites is desired.
