What is the school’s mission and philosophy? Our mission is to awaken each child’s individual strength, to become free thinkers; courageous seekers of truth and knowledge; and empathetic, enthusiastic participants and innovators in local culture and society.

Waldorf curriculum emphasizes creative expression, holistic development, and a strong connection to nature and sustainability. Lessons are guided by experiential learning that fosters artistic expression, and critical thinking.

WSNO core values are developmental appropriateness, providing an unhurried childhood, hands-on learning, & cultivating positive human values of humanity, equality, community, & freedom. Are there advanced placement, honors programs, or dual enrollment classes available? Our school does not offer advanced placement, honors programs, or dual enrollment classes, focusing instead on a holistic, individualized approach to learning through the Waldorf curriculum.
What extracurricular activities and clubs are available? We offer a variety of engaging and enriching after school activities and clubs including Handwork, Library, Photography, Chess, Bike, and Book. Plus Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, and Aikido.
How does the school foster a sense of community among students? We foster community through strong teacher-student relationships, a multi year class teacher, shared seasonal festivals and celebrations, a collaborative learning environment and a deep connection to nature.
How can parents get involved in the school community? Parents can get involved through the Parent Council, which fosters community, serves as a bridge between families and the school, and organizes enriching events and initiatives.
