Little Red Schoolhouse of Metairie

Little Red Schoolhouse of Metairie is celebrating it’s 50th year in the Metairie community in 2024! Initially located in a quaint red cottage in Old Metairie, it has now grown into it’s present site, serving over 300 children annually in the beautiful infant/ toddler and preschool buildings. The spacious and engaging facilities and large outdoor space provide children from 6 weeks to 5 years old with a safe and welcoming place to grow, learn, and meet their highest potential.

For decades the Little Red philosophy has been that early childhood education should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploration, learning through play, and discovery. The low teacher to student ratios allow children to be met on an individual level while allowing families and staff to build personal relationships. Little Red staff view school as an extension of the home and are committed to modeling essential principles to support each child’s development.

The Little Red Schoolhouse stands as a family legacy, serving the community and setting the standard for early childhood education for nearly half a century. It is a privilege to have had countless students grow up and now return with their little ones to join the Little Red family. The Little Red Schoolhouse of Metairie continues to provide an atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth and development for the whole child.
