Discover the Classic Camp Experience of Camp Covington located along the scenic Bogue Falaya River just seven miles northwest of Covington, Louisiana, Camp Covington is one of the oldest Girl Scout camps in the United States. This charming 23-acre camp blends rich Girl Scout tradition with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for troops and first-time campers.
Camp Covington offers a thoughtful mix of sunny open spaces for day use and shaded areas for overnight stays in cabins or platform tents. Each camping area includes a fire circle and grill, with nearby latrines, allowing girls to enjoy classic camp experiences like campfires, outdoor cooking, and teamwork in a safe, manageable setting.
Girls can explore nature through hands-on activities such as archery, hiking the camp trail, and spending time along the shallow Bogue Falaya River. Easy stair access allows campers to safely wade, observe wildlife, and explore the riverbed-often a favorite for younger campers.
Troops and groups can also use the dining hall and kitchen for day trips or weekend campouts, making Camp Covington a warm and approachable introduction to outdoor adventure.
