Broadway in New Orleans, presented by Entergy, brings Hadestown to the Saenger Theatre for five performances only, running January 23–25. Tickets start at $39 and are available now at saengernola.com.
The Backstory
Currently on its 2025–26 Broadway season tour, Hadestown continues to captivate audiences across the country. Since premiering, the musical has earned eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical in 2019, and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album in 2020. It was the most honored show of the 2018-19 Broadway season, before stalling due to the pandemic.
Vogue praises the show as “your next musical theater obsession.” The imaginative world is authored by Rachel Chavkin, who made history as the first woman in over a decade to to solo author a Broadway musical.
Showtime Tips
To make the most of your evening, plan to arrive early. Late arrivals may need to wait in the lobby until a pause in the performance, so punctuality is key.
Doors for the show open about an hour before showtime. Aim to arrive at the Saenger Theatre 60-90 minutes before the showtime to allow time for parking, security, ordering drinks, visiting the bathroom, and finding your seats without feeling rushed.
- Parking
- You’ll find the Saenger Theatre at 1111 Canal Street. It’s recommended that guests park in the University Garage (145 Roosevelt Way) for a $30 fee, available for pre-purchase when you buy your tickets. The garage opens two hours before showtime. Some nearby hotels offer valet parking, and additional public lots are also available.

- Security
- Expect security screening upon entry. Staff will check bags and guide guests through walk-through metal detectors. The Saenger recommends arriving early to allow time for this process, as safety and security remain top priorities.

- The Lobby
- Inside, guests can enjoy concessions and full-service bars located throughout the theatre. Grab refreshments before the curtain rises, or scan the QR code near your seat to order snacks and drinks directly to you.
