The American Academy of Pediatrics has revised what they recommend for child car seats. Below, we provide a list of what is actually Louisiana Law, and then what is recommended.
Here are the alarming facts:

-96% of seats installed wrong
-67% of children killed not properly in child seat at time of accident (2013)
Law: Birth-1 or less than 20 lbs-Rear-facing in an infant or convertible sea.
Law: 1-4 years old or 20-40lbs. F
orward-facing in convertible or combination seat (used with the internal harness).
Law: 4 until 6 years old and weighs 40-60 lbs. Belt-positioning booster seat.
