Fleur de Lis Publishing and it’s first publication, Nola Family Magazine was started by owner and local mom, Ann Herren, in 2006, shortly after Hurricane Katrina. We are proud to be locally founded with our content coming from our own city- New Orleans! We are especially proud of our national recognition and awards for our editorial and design, and to know that we are providing valuable and entertaining parenting information to our local parenting community, of which we (all) at Nola Family are a part.

In 2021, Family Resource Group Inc., which publishes other parenting magazines, such as Baton Rouge Parents Magazine, acquired Nola Family Magazine and Louisiana Boomers Magazine

Our magazine is a FREE, glossy, full color, 12-issues per year parenting resource that is locally written, with you, as a local parent, in mind. We welcome suggestions and ideas on what you as a reader would like to hear about! You can pick it up around town, or read it online (check out our home page). Our locations are listed here.

Want to write for us?
Nola Family is always interested in hearing from freelance writers—those with experience, or just starting out. You do not need to be a parent to write for our publication. Please read our detailed Writer’s Guidelines before submitting anything. Upon assignment, we would require a signed copy of our Writer’s Agreement.
