October 12,13,19,20,26,27  Jean Lafitte’s Haunted Tour 

Billed as kid friendly ( which is why we’re including this cool new haunted tour) its recommended that kids be at least 6 – although use your own judgement on how brave your child is! . It runs Every Friday and Saturday in October you’ll find plenty of thrills, a live DJ nightly, and costumes welcome. its a haunted swamp tour! Gates open at 7, Boats run from dark to midnight. $25 adults, $12 kids. Call 504.689.4186 for reservations.

October  19, 20, 26, 27  Boo at the Zoo

Bring your little ghosts and goblins to this annual zoo extravaganza featuring games, trick-or-treating, a haunted house, the Zoo’s Ghost Train and more! $17 per person. Children under 12 months are free. The Boo at the Zoo is a fundraiser for Children’s Hospital and Audubon Zoo. Audubon Zoo (5 – 9 pm)

 

 

October 23 – 27  Spooky Week 

 

Louisiana Children’s Museum A spooky week of fun at the Museum, where kids will make a bootiful Halloween bracelet to wear trick-or-treating. At 11 am and 1 pm daily, there will be a special Story Time reading of If You’re a Monster and You Know It by Erica Farber and J.R. Sansevere. In Art Trek, they’ll make a self-portrait inspired by Edvard Munch’s The Scream. $8, members free. (11 am – 3 pm)  

 

 

October 26  Halloween Fest

 

St. Pius X School, 6600 Spanish Fort Blvd.

Activities will include a not-so-haunted hay ride, family games, and food, plus a haunted house in the Msgr. Screen Gym from 6:30 – 9 pm Prices vary by activity. Call 504.282.2811 for more info. 6 – 10 pm)

Pumpkin Patch Costume Contest and Movie Night
4:30pm in the pumpkin patch 
(if raining, we will move into the fellowship hall)
The age categories will be:
0-6yrs
7-12yrs
13-17yrs
18 and over 
Judges will consider scariness, cuteness, and creativity to select overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each age category. All participants will receive treats just for entering. 5:30pm Casper the Friendly Ghost animated cartoons upstairs in the fellowship hall. $2 donation per person to cover for hot dogs, snacks and drinks during the show.
October 27, 28, 29 Park-a-Boo! 
Pavilion Island, Lafreniere Park, East Jefferson It’s a 3-day Halloween celebration primarily for children 12 and under to trick or treat, have fun in a “boo” house, face paint, play games, etc. Safety and fun is paramount. Sponsored by the Kenner Kiwanis and The Jefferson Chamber Foundation. (Fri. 5 – 8:30 pm; Sat. 1 – 8:30 pm; Sun. 2 – 5:30 pm) 
 
October 27Operation Pumpkin
10 am – 1 pm
Surgeons create hand carved Jack -o-lanterns Children’s Hospital with proceeds benefitting Children’s Hospital.
Kids can enjoy Trick or Treating in all the shops as well as mask making and pumpkin adornment with help from RHINO gallery artists. 
noon- Celebrity judges will pick the scariest and most creative pumpkins. 
 
October 28 St. Paul’s Fall Fest

from 11 AM – 5 PM, St. Paul’s will have family fun for everyone at Fall Fest.  Activities include: petting zoo, miniature golf, inflatables, children’s craft tent, food, old-fashion games, flag football, and more!  We will also have a pumpkin decorating contest and a pie eating contest!  Admission is free.  $10 play all day bands and food and drinks available for purchase.  For more information contact Lisa Davis at (504) 488-1319, ext. 119 or ldavis@stpauls-lakeview.org.

October 28 Museum Mash

Louisiana Children’s Museum. Celebrate Halloween inside the Museum . Kids can Play games and win prizes, make crafts, and boogie at the Monster Mash dance party! 5:30-8:30 pm. Admission $5 museum member, $10 non members. 
 
  October 28   2nd Annual Robért Fresh Market Kids Duathlon

The Run-Bike-Run race for children ages 5 to 15 offers three different distances for each age group.  Proceeds from race entry fees benefit the Angels on Earth Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides physical theraphy and service equipment to children with physical and learning disabilities in need.  Can you please add this Robért Kids Duathlon to the “Halloween Festivals and Events” on your website and/or in the event calendar?   Athletes & parents are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes on the day of the race.

Nola Motor Sports Park . A full day of fun and activities for the entire family. 
Kids Events: 
Kids 1 mile fun run on the track. Race packet/goodie bag to the first 100 kids.  Free!  
Inflatables and Mobile Fitness unit  provided by Elmwood Fitness Center, and Trunk or Treating from noon to 1 pm. There will also be a pumpkin patch kids activity are open for 9 am– 5pm. Cost: $5 and covers all crafts!
Adult Events:  A Zombie 5K, Drag-n-laps ( drag race and road race) , a blood drive and Costume Kart Race. Visit the fb page!
