Th Réveillon Dinner  comes alive each holiday season as one of New Orleans’ cherished traditions. It began in the mid-1800s, when Creole families broke their Christmas Eve fast after Midnight Mass with a lavish, mult-course feast that often lasted until dawn. Today, restaurants across the city carry the tradition forward with modern Réveillon menus (served at standard times) throughout December. This year, the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts’ hosts their own version, presenting their celebration: “Riverfront Reveillon: A Taste of 1940s New Orleans.”

The event takes place on Friday, December 5th at 6 p.m. in NOCCA’s Lupin Hall (2800 Chartres Street). Guests will jump back in time into a fully immersive, 1940’s-style experience, to an era of radios, drive-ins, cartoon shorts, bold fashion, and more.

What Does the Dinner Include?

NOCCA’s 2025 Riverfront Réveillon menu honors tradition with a full four-course lineup, including Hors d’oeuvres, soup, an entree, and dessert. Guests can expect Cajun-inspired appetizers, redfish, roasted duck, sweet potato dirty rice, fig-styled desserts, wine, and many additional surprises, presented by NOCCA’s talented Culinary Arts students.

“This dinner is a love letter to New Orleans,” said Chef Dana D’Anzi Tuohy, chair of NOCCA’s Culinary Arts department.

NOCCA’s students will set the mood with era-themed music, a festive cocktail hour, banquet-style dining, entertainment, and more.
