When one attends a concert, more is usually expected than an evening of simply listening to music–crowd engagement, performance energy, and emotional connections all help create a concert experience. So, what happens when the performers multiply to 1,000 musicians and play renowned songs within the iconic Caesars Superdome? A monumental moment in music history.
Rockin’1000, the world-renowned group, will be in New Orleans in January 2026 for its first-ever United States performance, partnering with New Orleans and Company. As a global community of 1,000 musicians, the concert brings to the stage a setlist of well-known rock music from across the decades as the “biggest rock band on Earth.”
What to Expect
The concert takes place on Saturday, January 31st, 2026, at Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans. You can purchase tickets at neworleans.com/rockin1000, and they are available now.
“[We encourage] kids with their parents, families, and friends to come and see the show because it’s something that brings people together, brings family together,” says Fabio Zaffagnini, the visionary behind Rockin’1000.
What can you expect to hear? The musicians will perform songs from artists such as Metallica, the Foo Fighters, Nirvana, and even Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” played by guitars, bass, drums, singers, keyboards, brass, and some strings.
“We tend to pay attention to where we are playing because we love to honor the local music,” says Zaffagnini, hinting at music planned specifically for New Orleans, including monumental songs like Greenday’s “The Saints are Coming.”
Unlike Anything Else
More than 10 years ago, Zaffagnini started the project as a way to convince the Foo Fighters to perform in his small Italian hometown, and it has since grown into a viral, successful phenomenon.
“When you go and see a normal concert, you go and see [an] unreachable superstar that is just there and everybody’s adoring. But in this case, there is a deeper connection between musicians and the audience. There is not such a big difference–it feels like we’re part of one whole thing,” explains Zaffagnini. “The whole stadium is singing along with the musicians. It’s not just music. It’s a social thing, a physical thing, and something that you can really feel. A really strong energy.”
A Chance to Join the Stage
Rockin’1000 features musicians from all over the world, and there is still room for more members. Local musicians can register to join the performance in New Orleans at rockin1000.com/join-the-band.
“We change the performers every time,” says Zaffagnini. “Most performers are from the region […] everywhere we go, we recruit local musicians.”
The idea, Zaffagnini explains, is to involve local musicians–even amateurs–and give them the chance to experience the dream of performing in a stadium in front of a large crowd. “[One] may never make it alone to fill up a stadium, but when they’re [with] 1,000 people, it can actually happen,” says Zaffagnini.
As well as new recruits, international musicians are kept on to perform in new cities. “We will have musicians from 25 different countries, from Brazil to Argentina, Japan, Indonesia, France, Spain, Portugal, Korea, all of Europe,” says Zaffagnini.
Rockin’1000 offers musicians the chance not only to perform alongside talent from around the globe, but also to play in a stadium filled with their own family, friends, and community.
An Impact for New Orleans
“[New Orleans] is known and celebrated for being a music city […], and I think this just further establishes that,” says Walt Leger, President and CEO of New Orleans and Company. “The Superdome is 50 years old–one of the oldest and most important stadiums in the country–and has had so many incredible events.”
“Music is such a big part of what we do, but this is, to me, it’s social, it’s community building, it’s uplifting, it’s joyful–it’s all the things that humans need for interaction,” says Leger.
Leger emphasizes that bringing people together to experience Rockin’1000 in the Superdome will create a moment worth remembering for years to come. “We want people to be a part of it. We want musicians to continue to join. We want people to leave the stadium happy and with a lot of joy. They’ll be grateful that they were there.”
After two hours of 1,000 musicians performing and tens of thousands of people singing along to the most iconic rock songs ever made, the event promises to be one worth attending, remembering, and cherishing.
