‘Tis the season for holiday cheer! The Manning Family Children’s Holiday Parade is around the corner, and news on what to expect when heading out that Saturday morning to enjoy the festivities with your family and friends is here.
Date & Details
The 4th annual Manning Family Children’s Holiday Parade will be on Saturday, December 6th. It will begin at 11 a.m., with a beautiful route through downtown New Orleans.
It will start at the corner of Esplanade Ave. and North Peters St., traveling to Decatur St. along the French Market towards Jackson Square and Oscar Dunn Park. The parade will then head back to North Peters, turning right on Canal St., U-turning on Burgundy St., and then traveling back through downtown to Tchoupitoulas St., ending at St. Joseph St.
Manning Family Children’s encourages local families and visitors to line the city streets and kick off the holiday season! What to expect? 30+ floats, talented marching bands, dancing groups, high-flying balloons, and of course, the man himself–Santa Clause.
Back by popular demand, hospital patients are busy decorating custom-made and adorned plastic ornaments, which will be given out as this year’s signature throw. Each ornament will include a tag with the name of the patient who decorated it. Don’t miss out on the beautiful, one-of-a-kind ornaments!
King & Queens
“This has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” says Archie Manning, reflecting on the past year of his family’s association with the renowned hospital. “Today, I have the special job of announcing our 2025 Manning Family Children’s Holiday Parade King and Queens–three extraordinary kids who have demonstrated incredible strength, bravery, resilience, and joy and hope, despite their difficult healthcare journeys.”
Leading the parade this year will be three special Manning Family Children’s patients: 11-year-old Abron, 7-year-old Jules and 9-year-old Abigail.
Engagement and Involvement
“We invite the community to join us for a day of joy and fun as we celebrate the season of giving and gratitude, while celebrating our vital, 70-year mission and bold new chapter for kids as we proudly renamed to Manning Family Children’s earlier this year,” says Lucio A. Fragoso, President and CEO of Manning Family Children’s.
The hospital thanks its partners, Kern Studios, NewOrleans.com, WDSU, Audacy and many other supporters, for making the holiday parade possible, as well as their sponsors, b1BANK, Chick-fil-A New Orleans, Coca-Cola United, Downtown Development District, the French Market District, Louisiana Feed Your Soul and Keesler Federal Credit Union.
Tune In Live
If unable to make the event, tune in from home via the WDSU two-hour parade broadcast and one-hour pre-show telethon. “Programming will begin at 10 a.m. with a special hourlong introduction that highlights the impact of Manning Family Children’s, shares inspiring patient stories, and helps raise important funds for the hospital. The parade broadcast can be viewed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.”
