Little League of New Orleans (LLONO), the local affiliate of Little League International, is pleased to announce its new home field at Ursuline Academy, and the opening of registration for baseball and – for the first time – softball for the 2021 season. The teams will play at Miss Pat Taylor Field at Ursuline, at 2635 State St. in New Orleans.
“We are honored and excited to partner with such a respected, cornerstone institution of our community,” said Gary Ptak, LLONO president. “With Ursuline’s partnership, LLONO will be able to provide Little League softball to girls in New Orleans, and our Little League baseball players will get to play at this excellent facility as well.”
LLONO offers a program of both recreational and competitive teams for children ages 5-12. Registration is now open to all children who reside or attend school within the LLONO boundaries. This boundary encompasses the majority of Orleans Parish, and select areas of St. Bernard and Jefferson parishes. Boundary maps can be found at 504llono.org in the League Info section. LLONO keeps registration costs as low as possible in an effort to include all kids who wish to play.
The 2021 LLONO Spring season will run from February through late April. All experience levels are welcome. Players who are ready to participate at a competitive level may be selected by coaches for all-star teams within their age bracket to participate in post-season tournaments at the district, state and regional levels, with the goal of making it to the International Little League World Series.
