Play Angry Birds in Real Life
With a bunch of cardboard boxes and balloons posing as pigs, make your favorite virtual game a reality! Grab a ball and get going (only to rebuild soon after, of course).
Decorate with Chalk
Whether it be a planned design, a free for all, or an organized mess, kids will have a ball drawing whatever their imagination comes up with. Tip: Use blue painters’ tape for clean lines.
Play Cornhole
This tailgate favorite can be for families too! Pull out the cornhole setup and beanbags, and get to playing! You can make your own setup with wood or plastic and even use balls as beanbags.
DIY Bowling
Whether it be empty tin cans or empty plastic bottles, use whatever you have to set up some “pins” for a fun game of bowling with your family.
Host a Nature Scavenger Hunt
To maximize time spent outside, host a nature scavenger hunt for your kids.. Ask them to collect a pinecone, large leaf, purple flower, insect, or any other easy-to-find items around the yard, and tally who found the most pieces.
