Nola Family’s Best Bets for the Weekend

Are you ready for the weekend?!  Grab your kids and some sunscreen, and get outside for some family fun! 

 

FRIDAY, APRIL 28

New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Fair Grounds Race Course. A 10-day cultural feast showcasing thousands of musicians on multiple stages, delicious Louisiana cuisine, and crafts artisans from the region and around the world. Zoo-To-Do for Kids Presented by Tulane Pediatrics, Audubon Zoo. Kids will enjoy live music and sing-along groups, games, inflatables, crafts, magicians, face painters, food and more. Ticket prices and times vary. For more information, visit audubonnatureinstitute.org/ztdk. 5-9 pm. 

Disney on Ice presents Follow Your Heart, UNO Lakefront Arena. Make unforgettable memories with the characters from Finding Dory, Inside Out, Frozen and Toy Story, plus Mickey, Minnie and all of the Disney princesses! Ticket prices and times vary. SUNDAY, APRIL 30  

Sensory Sunday, Audubon Zoo. The zoo welcomes those families with children with special needs to enjoy special sensory activities and animal encounters at the education area of the zoo. Free. For more information, contact bwalken@auduboninstitute.org.  9:30-10:30 am.

Maker Krewe, St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. Maker Krewe is a gathering of young, creative makers who desire the time, tools and expertise necessary to solve meaningful hard problems. Registration is $25-55. Space is limited, so you must register in advance at makerkrewe.com. 10 am-4 pm.
